This is Remagan. At this point there was a bridge over the Rhine, over which Allied soldiers passed on March 7, 1945. It was the last standing bridge over the Rhine, all others having been destroyed according to Hitler's orders. This one was also mined, but the fuses were cut by two Polish soldiers who had been conscripted into the German army.
