Pear harvest, August 2006. We got at least a hundred delicious pears from a tree that never bore that many before. Besides, in the past they weren't delicious. It turns out that this variety of pear is woody at first, then while still hard is very delicious for three or four days, and then is soft and mealy. We never picked them at the exact right time before!
